Cut the pen-pushers and put more bobbies on beat
MAY I, as a long retired officer, congratulate you on your efforts to get the Government to see sense and increase police funding to get bobbies on the beat again.
It is the only way to reduce the numbers of stabbings and other violent crimes at present overwhelming the nation.
Cut out time wasted on historical offences by long dead people and cut police and crime commissioners and let chief constables run the forces. Cutting out some of the non-productive middle supervisory ranks would allow more money to be spent on frontline policing.
