Stiffer sentences the only way to beat knife crime
WITH the increasing number of stabbing attacks, along with most crimes, the silence from Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick and London Mayor Sadiq Khan is deafening (“Mother stabbed to death in the street ‘in front of her children’”, February 9).
Some years back we were promised that those carrying knives would be charged and face jail.
Until justice is seen to be served, with the sentence matching the severity of the crime, murder in particular will continue to be treated with kid gloves.
Time to look again at the death sentence for premeditated murder.
