TRY, TRY AGAIN...RUGBY TEEN WHO DEFIED ODDS

-

YOUNG rugby player Connor Lynes nearly died from a rough tackle in 2016 as he scored a try.

The 18-year-old was found on his bathroom floor the day after his game for the Lambwath Lions – and a blood clot on the brain and two strokes left him fighting for his life.

After recovering, Connor started his own charity dedicated to raising awareness and helping young people who have had brain injuries.

He offers support through hospital visits and has raised more than £20,000 towards a sensory room for children.

In 2017, Connor, of Hull, East Yorkshire, gave a keynote House of Lords address to launch the Child Brain Injury Trust.

And last April he was back on the rugby pitch for Wakefield Trinity, playing in the Physical Disability Rugby League.

The league allows players with disabilities to line up with able-bodied participants.
