FORMER Dr Who star David Tennant was the big winner at last night’s Radio Times TV Awards – picking up the top prizes in drama and comedy.
His portrayal of Scottish serial killer Dennis Nilsen in ITV’s Des took Best Drama, while his BBC One series Staged was Best Comedy.
Lockdown satire Staged – also starring Michael Sheen – was mostly filmed on Zoom. And Dame Judi Dench’s dressing down of the two actors was voted TV Moment of the Year by viewers.
Accepting his Staged award remotely, David,
49, said the crew were “chuffed”.
He added: “It means so much to us that it’s
connected with everyone. It was great fun to make.” Dame Judi, 86, also said she “delighted”.
