I have scenes with Toby Jones today, who plays my husband Verloc. I was so excited to be appearing alongside him, having admired Toby’s work for so long. We’re filming in Verloc’s Soho shop, the frontage of which is actually in Thistle Street Lane in Edinburgh, a long, cobbled street that could quite easily pass for a road in 19th- century central London. As the director Charles McDougall tells us, ‘Filming is taking place at the northernmost tip of Soho – Scotland!’
