Gene for the big screen?

Philip Glenister is hoping to turn his Life On Mars character Gene Hunt into a movie star. ‘I believe there’s an appetite for the show and if the story was good I’d definitely like to do it,’ says Philip. ‘Movie remakes of cop shows don’t always work – The Sweeney film didn’t do very well – but I reckon it would be fun to try.’
