11.30PM, RADIO 2 The Cory Band, founded in 1884, are one of the oldest and most famous brass bands in the world. For the Sunday Brass Band Gala Concert, recorded at Birmingham’s Symphony Hall earlier this month, they will be joined on stage by Isobel Dawes, who was crowned Radio 2’s Young Brass Award Winner 2017. The talented 17-year-old trombonist will be playing the ever popular Rhapsody For Trombone, and beforehand will be talking to presenter Frank Renton about her plans for the future.
