Michelle Keegan stepped into Lacey Turner’s shoes nicely after taking over from the EastEnders star in the second series of this Army drama, and now she’s back in her fatigues as we return to follow the heroics of medic Lance Corporal Georgie Lane. After leaving Coronation Street, Keegan, with roles in Ordinary Lives and Tina & Bobby, is carving out a name for herself as one of the small screen’s most promising actors and she impresses here again. It’s an action-packed start to the series as we join Georgie on a perilous mission to Syria to rescue an injured local politician, before she’s off to Nepal to help out in the relief effort in the aftermath of a devastating earthquake. There, a new love interest, a cocky young rival and a life-threatening situation await. Tuesday, 9pm, BBC1.
