The Addams Family (1964-66)

Gomez and Morticia, their children, Wednesday and Pugsley, plus Uncle Fester and Grandmama first appeared in 1938, as cartoons in The New Yorker. On screen, they debuted in a 1964 TV serial, followed by two films, in 1991 and 1993, starring Anjelica Huston and Raul Julia as Morticia and Gomez (left).

The Munster(1964-66)

This sitcom followed a monster family, headed by Herman, who resembled Frankenste­in’s monster, and his vampire bride, Lily. It was reported last year that a TV reboot was in the works.

Young Dracula (2006-14)

A small town in Wales is the new home for famous vampire Count Dracula, his son, Vlad, and Vlad’s sister, Ingrid. This acclaimed horror comedy showed on CBBC, and ran for a total of five seasons.

Hotel Transylvan­ia (2012)

Blood is thicker than water for Dracula and his teen daughter, Mavis (right). This fun animated film features a veritable monster mash of freaky families, including Wayne and Wanda Werewolf, and Frankenste­in’s monster and his wife, Eunice.
