The bronzed hunk keeping Adele safe sets internet alight
AS the bodyguard of a global superstar, his job is to stay very much in the background.
But Adele’s minder Peter Van der Veen has now been propelled to stardom himself thanks to his striking good looks.
The Dutchman’s chiselled jaw, piercing blue eyes and bulging muscles have set pulses racing.
Pictures of Adele with the former bodybuilder, who was crowned Mr Europe in 2005, have gone viral on social media, with the attention firmly on him rather than the award-winning singer – even though she has just released her third album 25, which shot straight to number one after selling a record-breaking 800,000 copies in its first week.
One fan wrote on Twitter: ‘Although I love the new Adele album, I think I’m more obsessed with her bodyguard.’
Another gushed that ‘Adele’s bodyguard could set fire to the rain he’s so hot’ – referring to one of the singer’s songs from her second album 21.
Another wrote: ‘All I want for Christmas is Adele’s bodyguard sitting under my tree waiting for me.’
The heart-throb previously provided security for Lady Gaga and worked with Australian rapper Iggy Azalea, but it is only now that he has inadvertently stepped into the limelight.
