LONG HAUL

FROM January, you won’t need a connecting flight to book a Chilean adventure. British Airways ( ba.com) will run the only direct route between London and Santiago in Chile four times a week — a flight of 14 hours 40 minutes. There’s a special launch rate of £749 economy return.

CHOOSE A ROOM

WHEN you stay at a Hilton hotel you can now use its app ( hiltonworldwide.com) to choose the best view. The new Google Map function lets you explore its surroundings before selecting your room, so light sleepers can avoid busy roads and early risers can opt for sunrise-facing windows.

NO LIMITS

CALLING all travel junkies with a disability: Limitless ( limitlesstravel.org) is a new online travel guide that uses icons to help you easily assess the suitability of hotels and attractions. It currently covers London but the plan is to expand into Europe.

GO EAST

VISITING China is about to become easier. The first direct UK flights to Chongqing launch in June. Tianjin Airlines will run the route twice weekly, year-round, from London Gatwick ( gat

wickairport.com), with onward connections to more than 100 Chinese cities.
