Payout, apology ... but still no job
MAHA Yassaie has been unable to work for the NHS since losing her job after raising safety concerns in 2012.
She was sacked as chief pharmacist at the now defunct Berkshire West Primary Care Trust after making a number of allegations against colleagues.
She has since been awarded £375,000 for unfair dismissal – and received an apology – but is still unable to find another job.
Mrs Yassaie, 55, who worked at the trust for ten years, was dismissed when she reported serious safety concerns – and was subsequently accused of being a bully.
She accused a colleague of taking money from pharmaceutical companies to prescribe certain drugs, and also claimed other medicines were being wrongly used.
Since receiving her settlement, she has applied for six jobs and turned down for each because of ‘something in her file’.
She made a request under the Freedom of Information Act to obtain her NHS records and discovered the dismissal from December 2012 had not been removed.
Health officials say they understand her case to be closed and she may have to take court action to have her record cleared.
Mrs Yassaie said: ‘The situation is ridiculous – I’m exhausted.’
