THIS morning, DJ Sara Cox (pictured) will pull on her legwarmers, get some Eighties music going and begin a 24-hour SOUNDS OF THE 80S DANCEATHON (RADIO 2, 9.30AM) boogie to raise money for Red Nose Day. With back-up from a troupe of celebritie­s, Sara will be dancing on until 9.30am tomorrow. Her fellow DJs on Radio 2 will be playing Eighties sounds to keep Sara strutting her stuff.

HOWARD CUNNELL was a damaged child who, when he grew up, destroyed relationsh­ips that were important to him. Becoming a father changed him as he learnt to love his daughter, Jay. Each morning this week, Howard will be reading from his recent memoir FATHERS AND SONS (RADIO 4, 9.45AM (FM), 12.30AM), and telling us about dealing with the news that Jay sees himself as a boy and a son.
