I’m sad that I’ll never be wolf-whistled again, says Eve Pollard

- Daily Mail Reporter

SHE freely admits being ‘ancient’, and says she loves the freedom and wisdom old age can bring.

But there is one thing Eve Pollard misses about her youth – being wolf-whistled.

The former newspaper editor, 71, has told how she used to enjoy the attention of men – and insisted it is not anti-feminist to do so.

Speaking to Radio Times, she said: ‘Of course, like most women over 50 I know, I am invisible.

‘But I believe that there are positives as you get older. Life, as an ancient, is so much better if you really appreciate that you are still alive. You’ve just got to lower your expectations.

‘I know that no man is ever going to wolf-whistle at me or stare moodily at me with a hint of lust again. Yes, you can be a feminist and secretly enjoy that. But I’m realistic: that was then.

‘Now I have become addicted to the older, wiser man who I know I can make me laugh.’
