- Mail Foreign Service

HUNGER Games star Jennifer Lawrence is lucky to be alive after both engines on her private jet failed.

Miss Lawrence, 26 – who is Hollywood’s highest-paid actress, was flying from her home town of Louisville, Kentucky, when an engine on the Beechjet 400 shut down at 31,000ft.

The second one then failed as the plane

came in to make an emergency landing in Buffalo, New York.

The pilot managed to touch down safely and the plane, carrying two crew and two passengers, was met on the tarmac by emergency vehicles.

Miss Lawrence’s spokesman said she was unhurt in the incident, which is thought to have been caused by a fuel pump. The jet was flying from Louisville to Teterboro, New Jersey, when the drama unfolded at 1.15pm on Saturday.

Oscar-winner Miss Lawrence, who is dating director Darren Aronofsky, is known to head to Louisville regularly to escape the spotlight.
