Don’t leave yours and your family’s future to chance

Arrange your Will and Lasting Powers of Attorney today

-

No one can be sure of what the future holds. Although we all hope to be in good health, it is important to be prepared for every eventuality. Careful planning is the best way to ensure that your wishes are carried out throughout your lifetime and beyond. Having the correct legal documents in place, and up to date, helps to safeguard your wishes so that your estate is taken care of by those you trust and as you intended.

Peace of mind

Whatever your circumstances, it is important to make arrangements for the future. Having a Will in place can give you and your family peace of mind, helping to ensure your assets are protected and your loved ones are taken care of when you are gone. A Will is relatively straightforward to arrange and can make a difficult and emotional time a bit easier for your family.

Why do I need an LPA?

Another important part of planning for later life is setting up a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA). An LPA allows you to appoint the people you trust the most to make important decisions on your behalf when you are no longer able or willing to. Without an LPA, your loved ones must apply to the Court of Protection for permission to manage your affairs, which is a lengthy and costly process. There are two types of LPA: Property and Financial Affairs and Health and Welfare. The first covers your finances, such as dealing with bank/utility providers or even collecting benefits on your behalf. It also allows decisions to be made concerning your property. A Health and Welfare LPA can only be used when you are unable to make your own decisions. It covers choices about your medical care, treatment and care type.

Planning for the future

Mr & Mrs Meeks from Wiltshire understood the importance of planning ahead and putting the legal documents together to protect their family.

Being an ex-policeman in a small village, a lot of residents come to me for advice on various matters, including estate planning, so I’ve always understood the importance of it. When my wife and I got married two years ago we knew that our Wills would need re-writing and that we also needed to start planning for the future. We both have children from previous marriages and have been all too aware of the issues caused when future plans are not in place. This is why we wanted to arrange both our Lasting Powers of Attorney at the same time as re-writing our Wills. We came across an advert in the Daily Mail for Key Retirement and were impressed with the information. Not only that, but the price was lower than we had seen elsewhere. When we contacted Key, the process was so simple. It’s a relief to get our wishes down in writing and in a legal document. As we have always said, it is not about us when we pass away, it is about the people left behind and making things a little bit easier for them. We are believers that planning for the future is essential. Key delivered great service and we would recommend them to others in the future.” FREE Mail guide
