Nadal out of Queen’s
RAFAEL NADAL last night pulled out of his principal lead-in event to Wimbledon, raising the question of how big a challenge he will be able to mount on the grass court this summer. The newly-reinstated French Open champion withdrew from next week’s Aegon Championships at Queen’s, citing consultations with his medical team. After apologising for his absence Nadal, 31, said: ‘I love Queen’s, I won the tournament in 2008 and every time I reached the Wimbledon final it was after playing Queen’s. ‘I have decided my body needs to rest if I am going to be ready to play Wimbledon.’
