Donald Trump’s visit left in doubt

DONALD Trump’s state visit was kicked into the long grass yesterday.

The Queen’s Speech is used to inform Parliament of upcoming visits – in this case for the next two years – but the president’s trip was notably absent.

Theresa May invited Mr Trump when she met him in Washington DC in January, sparking the threat of protests.

Earlier this month Mr Trump is said to have told Mrs May he does not want the trip to go ahead until the UK public supports him coming. A No 10 spokesman said: ‘The visit wasn’t mentioned ... because a date hasn’t been fixed yet.’
