Fresher Farage bats away Botox rumours
WITH visibly reduced wrinkles, darkerlooking hair and faded eye bags, Nigel Farage looks like a new man – in the space of just a week.
The former Ukip leader claims his changed appearance is the result of a more relaxed lifestyle. But yesterday it was claimed Mr Farage, 53, had travelled to Germany earlier this month to have Botox and other facial treatments to look younger.
He insisted he is simply ‘less stressed’, but experts have suggested otherwise.
Celebrity cosmetic specialist Dr Nyla Raja told The Sun: ‘In my opinion, he has had a skin-tightening treatment using radio frequency. This would shrink the tissue giving the appearance of a lesser eye bag, but which would not affect the lower orbital rim – the groove underneath the eye. I also think he has had Botox because the wrinkles around his eyes and on the forehead are less defined.’
Dr Raja, of the Medispa clinic in Wilmslow, Cheshire, added: ‘The lines from his nose to his mouth are also less apparent suggesting the use of dermal filler. He looks much better.’ A source close to Mr Farage claimed he had seized the chance of a makeover during the election. ‘Perhaps he was hoping the results were subtle enough not to be noticed,’ the source said. ‘But the fact he looks younger was spotted instantly.’
Last night Mr Farage denied that he had had Botox, telling the Daily Mail: ‘There is a very good reason why I look younger these days. It’s because I’m less stressed and I’m not the leader of Ukip any more.’ Asked if he had had any anti-ageing treatments he said: ‘Don’t get involved in party politics.’
Despite appearing more tanned he said he had not had any more holidays than normal. He added that he did not moisturise – which is recommended for both men and women who want to slow down the ageing process.
There is speculation Mr Farage may have wanted to look younger for Laure Ferrari, 37, who is rumoured to be his girlfriend. It was revealed in February that the pair were sharing a £4million house in west London after he separated from his wife Kirsten.
A video emerged of him dancing with Miss Ferrari, who is French, at a party marking the first anniversary of the Brexit vote.
