Charity chiefs’ payday

-

THE founders of Just Giving will pocket more than £5m after the charity fundraising website was sold.

zarine Kharas and AnneMarie Huby set up Just Giving in 2001, and yesterday it was sold to US charity software company Blackbaud for £95m.

The pair hold stakes of 4.5pc and 1.1pc respectively, which means Kharas could make £4.2m and Huby could get more than £1m.

The Just Giving website allows fundraisers to set up online appeals, with the business taking a 5pc cut of any donations. It was criticised for refusing to waive the £115,000 in fees taken from fundraising after the Grenfell Tower fire. The Mail has also raised concerns that fees are too high.
