Daily Mail - - England V South Africa First Test - LAWRENCE BOOTH

MOEEN ALI became the first offspinner to take 10 wickets in a Lord’s Test for 66 years. Way back in 1951, Roy Tattersall (right) took 12 forf 101 t to help see off South Africa by 10 wickets inside three days.

MOEEN was also the first England player to score a half-century and take at least 10 wickets in the same Test since Ian Botham’s 114 and 13 wickets against India in Mumbai in February 1980.

THIS was Moeen’s first 10-wicket haul in Tests, beating his previous best match bowling figures of eight for 129 against India at Southampton’s Ageas Bowl in 2014 in his fifth Test.
