BARDOT LOOK IS BACK
BARDOT-style tops and coldshoulder blouses were among the top sellers that helped Marks and Spencer bolster its bottom line.
The retailer said its off-the-shoulder fashion had proven popular with shoppers – selling 125,000 in the period. Sales have been boosted by the heatwave as shoppers snap up looser clothing. Wardrobe essentials, such as men’s navy chino shorts, had also sold well. M&S sells a number of Bardot tops – named after the actress Brigitte Bardot who made the design fashionable in the 1960s – and prices range from £9 to £39.50.
These have become popular this summer with a number of retailers offering the style. Cold shoulder tops – with cutouts at the shoulders – sell from £15 upwards.
