HAPPY BIRTHDAY

-

DENNIS LILLEE, 68. The Australian ex- cricketer (right) is one of the greatest ever fast bowlers. In 1977, at the Centenary Test in Melbourne, the Queen greeted both teams. Protocol means she never gives autographs but Lillee had a pen and book ready. ‘Not now,’ she said. A cricket administrator later arranged for her to sign a photo of their meeting. Lillee says it is ‘one of his most prized possessions’.

JAMES BROLIN, 77. The U.S. actor starred in Catch Me If You Can and Westworld. He is married to Barbra Streisand (they met on a blind date) and father to actor Josh Brolin. According to producer Cubby Broccoli, in 1983 he was about to take over from Roger Moore as James Bond in octopussy — and buying a house in London ready for filming — but Moore decided to continue in the role.
