Parrot convicts wife of murder

-

A WOMAN has been found guilty of killing her husband after the shooting was witnessed by the couple’s pet parrot.

Glenna Duram, 49, shot her husband Martin five times in front of the African Grey parrot called Bud in 2015, before turning the gun on herself in a failed suicide attempt.

Mr Duram’s ex-wife, Christina Keller, told a court in Michigan that Bud later repeated the words ‘don’t f***ing shoot’ in Mr Duram’s voice.

Mrs Keller, who now owns Bud, said she believed the parrot was repeating a conversation from the night of the murder. Mr Duram’s parents agreed it was possible the foul-mouthed bird had overheard the couple arguing and was repeating their final words.

His mother, Lillian Duram, said: ‘That bird picks up everything and anything, and it’s got the filthiest mouth around.’

Mrs Duram will be sentenced on August 28. Bud did not appear in court during the trial.
