Price war over… anti-balding pill

-

BRITAIN’S bald men have been put at the centre of a high street price war.

Asda is to offer a one month supply of the powerful hair loss reversal drug, Finasteride, for up to 43 per cent less than specialist chains like Boots.

The drug, which is better known under the brand name Propecia, is reported to have been used by famous names such as Donald Trump, Wayne Rooney and Hollywood actor Bradley Cooper.

Asda claims to be the first UK supermarket to offer the drug and will sell it for just £1 a day. Some 20 million men have used Finasteride at least once.

It will sell the pills at £28 for a one month supply through its 255 in-store pharmacies – compared to £49 at Boots, £45 at Lloyds and £37 at superdrug.
