Could Gavin and Stacey return on the big screen?

-

THE cult TV comedy that propelled James Corden to stardom could come back – on the big screen.

One of the actors from the cast of Gavin And Stacey said there is a ‘distinct possibility’ the Bafta-winning comedy will be turned into a film.

Larry Lamb, 6 , who played the father of Gavin in the BBC sitcom, said: ‘I don’t think anybody that was in it would ever say no.’

It was written by Corden and Ruth Jones, who played Smithy and Nessa, friends of Gavin and Stacey in the show, which ran from 2007 to 2010. They came up with the idea during filming breaks for ITV’s diet club drama Fat Friends.

Talking about a possible return, Lamb said: ‘It’s highly unlikely they’ll ever make another television series.

‘It’s a distinct possibility they might make a film. That’s purely conjecture [but] it’s got a huge audience, so I’m sure that’s what they’ll do.’
