chaos over Brexit has deepened after shadow home secretary Diane Abbott insisted that staying in the single market has not been ruled out by the party leadership.
Her stance contradicted leader Jeremy Corbyn, who on Sunday told BBC1’s The Andrew Marr Show that the UK must leave the single market as it was ‘inextricably’ linked with EU membership.
But Miss Abbott this week told BBC2’s Newsnight: ‘We are not at this stage taking any options off the table.’
