Showers roll in so keep a brolly handy
KEEP your umbrella ready this weekend and for the following days as low pressure mars the weather for many of us.
As August approaches, a washout weekend is on the cards as rain rolls in. An area of low pressure bringing the distinctly un-summery spell is sitting over Scotland and will have an effect for several days.
Some places could have 10-15mm of rain from a band of downpours due to cross southern England later today while winds could gust as high as 20mph. Heavy or thundery showers are also on the way.
Temperatures are set to be below the July average of 19C (66F) but, when the sun is out, they could warm up to mid-20s in some areas. The outlook for Monday and Tuesday is unsettled although a little brighter.
Nicola Maxey, of the Met Office, said: ‘The showers are due to clear on Wednesday when we’re looking at a bright day for most parts.’
