WHAT a wonderful innings from Ben Stokes. There was none of this ‘That’s the way I play’ stuff. He quickly worked out that he should stand out of his crease to Vernon Philander and get forward. He batted with discipline and when Keshav Maharaj was brought into the attack it was as if Stokes had won the lottery. He smacked him into the stands . . . regularly.
