Lloyds sets up cancer phoneline

-

BRITAIN’S biggest bank has launched a helpline — to offer extra financial support to customers with cancer.

Calls will be taken by a special team at Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland, trained by cancer charity Macmillan.

They will offer mortgage repayment holidays, reduce interest rates and waive overdraft fees.

Lloyds’ new helpline will be open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Call 0800 015 0016.

Nationwide set up a similar hotline two years ago, which now covers those with other lifethreatening illnesses and people with mental health problems.

Its number is 0800 917 2393. For more information call Macmillan on 0808 808 0000. v.bischoff@dailymail.co.uk
