A HOT summer’s day spells disaster for makeup. But how far would you be willing to go to prevent your cosmetics from slipping?

The latest craze, popular with make-up experts and bloggers, involves dunking your face in freezing water to fix your make-up in place. And you do it AFTER applying.

How does it work? After putting on founda- tion and concealer, devotees cover their faces in a thick layer of baby powder.

They then submerge their faces into a bowl of ice-cold water for 30 seconds. The water lifts off the excess baby powder and, fans say, smooths out the make-up underneath and keeps it in place all day. It’s certainly not for the faint-hearted!
