Can an injection of blood boost women’s sex lives?

INJECTIONS of blood are being tested as a treatment for women with female orgasmic disorder.

The condition, which leads to a delay or absence of orgasm, is currently treated with medications to increase blood flow.

One theory is it is caused by blockages in the small blood vessels in the geni- tals. In a trial, 40 women are being given jabs of platelet- rich plasma, made by spinning their blood to extract growth factors key to healing.

Researchers at the U.S. Centers for Vulvovaginal Disorders in Washington say that these may encourage the growth of new blood vessels.
