Teenagers too scared to phone

UNIVERSITIES are taking clearing applications via Twitter, Facebook and Snapchat because they say teenagers are too scared to pick up the phone.

Several universities are filling up courses by making formal offers through the social media mobile apps.

Virtual tours of campuses are also being offered via Facebook. Charlotte Renwick, of Leeds Beckett University, said: ‘We’ve found students who are quite nervous about calling will often reach out to us on social media first.’
