AS BORIS Johnson seeks to strengthen relations with India prior to Brexit, he has a secret weapon.

The Foreign Secretary’s long- suffering wife, Marina Wheeler QC, is half Indian.

Her father was the late BBC correspondent Sir Charles Wheeler and her mother is his second wife, Dip Singh, who is Sikh. Her family migrated to India from what is now Pakistan after the partition 70 years ago this week.

Boris towered over barrister Marina, 52, at the Indian Journalists’ Assocation dinner in Westminster, where she celebrated her heritage by wearing a colourful Indian-style outfit.
