Fatal fire fear over product recalls

FIRE-RISK household appliances will kill more if the Government continues to delay improvements to the product safety recall system, a group led by London Fire Brigade says.

It said it was ‘extremely concerned’ that despite a review two years ago, and proposals for an agency to oversee recalls, ‘no substantial changes’ have been made. Ministers claim they have made progress.
