Finally! Ministers ban cold callers
COLD calls about pensions are to be banned by the Government after fraudsters swindled £5 million from pensioners in the first five months of this year.
Calls from rogue firms tricked savers into moving their pensions to high-risk or fraudulent schemes. Victims lost £15,000 on average. Unsolicited texts and emails regarding pensions will also be banned.
Ministers have yet to announce when the ban comes into force, so are urging savers to remain vigilant and to seek independent advice before transferring any pension.
