Sister of Manchester victim’s 11 A* results

-

THE sister of a Manchester bombing victim has achieved 11 A*s in her GCSEs – despite taking an exam the day after she found out her brother had died.

Nikita Murray, the half-sister of Martyn Hett, was yesterday hailed as ‘the toughest person I have ever met’ by another brother.

Martyn Hett, 29, a PR manager, was one of 22 people killed in the Manchester Arena bombing on May 22, which happened after an Ariana Grande concert.

Nikita, 16, from Stockport, gained all top grades in subjects including Classics, French, geography and further maths and plans to stay on for sixth form at Stockport Grammar School to study maths, further maths, physics and Classics.

Her school, like many private schools, puts it pupils in for International GCSEs, which retain the traditional letter grading system.

The evening after the bombing, the family found out Martyn had been killed in the attack and at 1pm the following day Nikita took a physics exam.

Yesterday, in a series of tweets, Mr Hett’s older brother, Dan Hett, wrote: ‘My little sister Nik is an actual hero. Under the most horrific conditions, after going through (and continuing to go through) it all, she didn’t skip a beat.

‘She got her results today. Eleven A* grades. I have never been more proud or amazed by anyone. In conclusion: my kid sister is the toughest person I have ever met. Don’t mess with her. Be inspired!’
