THE quartet’s fourth album leans more on expansive electronics and less on fidgety indie-rock, though there’s still variety amid the new directness. With Jonathan Higgs’s headstrong falsetto matched by high harmonies, Can’t Do offers a Mancunian take on Detroit techno. Desire is an energetic, Muse-like stomp, but Put Me Together and the title track are tuneful ballads. ★★★✩✩ AT
