Marriage of a murderer
21 years after stabbing her fiance, fake road rage killer Tracie Andrews weds
NOTORIOUS killer Tracie Andrews has reportedly married in a ceremony at a beachside hotel 21 years after stabbing her first fiancé to death.
It comes two months after Andrews, 48 – who murdered Lee Harvey, 25, by knifing him more than 40 times then pretended he had died in a road rage attack – was pictured on her hen night dressed as a woman police officer.
The ceremony, understood to have been held yesterday, is likely to cause outrage among her victim’s family. Andrews, who was handed a life sentence for the murder and only walked free in 2012 after serving 14 years behind bars, married her bouncer boyfriend Phil Goldsworthy, 52, in Redruth, Cornwall, according to Mail Online.
It is understood to have taken place at the four-star Penventon Park Hotel, which boasts on its website that it offers ‘an unashamedly lavish wedding in sumptuous surrounds’. For £3,000, the Georgian mansion provides a threecourse wedding breakfast for up to 250 guests, with canapes, Pimms or sparkling wine.
On her hen night in June, held at a Butlins resort in Minehead, Somerset, Andrews was said to have kissed strangers while cele- brating with six friends. At the time, an onlooker said: ‘She knows no shame – she thought it was hilarious to dress as a copper.
‘She didn’t spare a thought for Lee’s family.’
Andrews now lives under the name Jenna Stephens and has dyed her blonde hair dark brown. She met her new husband while working as a barmaid at the same pub where he provides security. Mr Goldsworthy is said to be smitten and knows about the past of the ex-hairdresser, who had a history of violence towards boyfriends before she murdered Mr Harvey.
He killing in a country lane outside Birmingham in 1996 shocked the nation. Andrews initially claimed he had been knifed to death in a road rage attack by a ‘fat man with staring eyes’. She later lied during a press conference – sobbing and claiming that her bloodied face was the result of being punched by the ‘ road rage’ attacker.
When she was eventually charged with murder, her trial was told there was compelling forensic evidence she had killed her fiancé with a Swiss Army knife. Almost two years later she confessed, but insisted it was self- defence. The hotel said it ‘could not confirm or deny’ she had married there.
