Benefit of benefits

I’VE been told that my state pension will be paid at a lower rate because I paid slightly fewer National Insurance contributions, as I was in a company pension scheme for part of my working life.

My neighbour will receive the state pension at the full amount because her contributions were paid by the state during her several decades in receipt of state benefits. Silly me.
