Second Warner century edges Aussies ahead

AUSTRALIA’S David Warner scored a second successive century as his side built a 72run first-innings lead on the rainhit third day of the second Test against Bangladesh. The morning session in Chittagong was washed out but when play did start Australia moved on from 225 for two to 377 for nine before bad light halted play for the day. Warner (above), resuming on 88, was looking to follow up his 112 in last week’s defeat in Mirpur. He soon lost third-wicket partner Peter Handscomb, run out for 82 as he went for a single, before going on to reach his century with a four off Nasir Hossain. He was eventually caught on 123 by Imrul Kayes off Mustafizur Rahman. Five more wickets tumbled before stumps leaving Steve O’Keefe on eight not out and last man Nathan Lyon on zero.
