HOW THE INTRUDER EXPOSED SECURITY BLUNDERS

LOW IRON GATES

A pair of low wrought iron gates border Battersea High Street. They have a mortise lock but are left open throughout the day.

ARCHED IRON GATES

A second set of arched wrought iron gates protect the glass doors to the school. These are also left open all day.

GLASS DOORS

Double reinforced glass doors are sealed with a magnetic lock. Teachers and parents can use a fob to gain entry or be ‘buzzed in’ by reception using the intercom on the central pillar

LOBBY

The area beyond the doors is covered by a single CCTV camera. A second set of wood and glass swing doors, which are not locked, lead into the school.

CCTV

The front of the school is covered by two CCTV cameras on a tall pole located to the right of the main doors.

POLICE

Prince George is guarded at all times by armed plaincloth­es officers from the Met’s Royalty and Specialist Protection Unit. They are believed to carry Glock 17 pistols plus Tasers.
