...BUT HODGSON WANTS HIM ON LOAN AT CRYSTAL PALACE

- By SAMI MOKBEL

ROY HODGSON is plotting a January move for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere. Newly appointed Crystal Palace boss Hodgson is a fan of Wilshere and would jump at the chance of signing the 25-year-old when the transfer window reopens — either on a loan or permanent deal. Hodgson will monitor how Wilshere’s season develops and if he continues to play a peripheral role, Palace are likely to move. Wilshere’s existing deal expires at the end of the season meaning Arsenal may well look to sell in January to make some money. Wilshere was a key player for Hodgson during his reign as England manager and was selected 29 times. Hodgson took his first training session yesterday after being appointed on Tuesday. Palace have lost their opening four Premier League games without scoring a goal — leading to Frank de Boer’s sacking on Monday.
