Witty’s second post in as many days

-

NEVER one to rest on his laurels, former GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) boss Sir Andrew Witty has taken on his second role in as many days.

The 53-year-old, who retired as GSK chief executive this year, was yesterday appointed to the advisory board of Synthego, a leading provider of genome engineering in the US.

He will guide the firm as it extends further into the genome engineering market.

Paul Dabrowski, chief executive of Synthego, said: ‘Andrew’s broad experience in the biopharmaceutical space will help us unlock the full value of our platform and grow in key areas.’

The news came just a day after the pharmaceutical veteran joined US biopharmaceutical firm Hatteras Venture Partners as a venture partner, where he will advise on the company’s strategic positioning.

A keen marathon runner who ran the London Marathon in 2008, Witty lives in Buckinghamshire with his wife, Caroline, and their two children. He was knighted in 2012.
