Clinton aide’s husband jailed over sexting
DISGRACED ex-US congressman Anthony Weiner, whose sexual messages to a 15-year-old girl triggered a damaging FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails, was jailed yesterday.
Weiner received a 21-month sentence at a New York court for sending sexually obscene material to the minor. He admitted asking the girl to strip naked via the video chat service Skype. Weiner, 53, was the estranged husband of Mrs Clinton’s aide Huma Abedin.
Many Democrats blame him for ruining Mrs Clinton’s presidential campaign last year. Her ratings plunged after the FBI reopened an investigation into her use of a private email server. The FBI decided to reopen their probe after discovering emails between Mrs Clinton and Miss Abedin on Weiner’s laptop while investigating his sexting case.
