Suedois wins in US
DAVID O’MeARA executed another lucrative American raid on Saturday night as Suedois followed in the footsteps of Mondialiste to enjoy Grade One success in north America.
It has been over a year since Mondialiste lifted the Arlington Million and a £387,000 first prize, but Suedois trumped his stablemate at the weekend, claiming the prestigious Shadwell Turf Mile at Keenland and a cool £ 487,000 in the process.
Well ridden by Danny Tudhope, the six-yearold settled well off the pace before producing a late charge to prevail by half a length.
Suedois’s victory earns him an automatic place in the Breeders’ Cup Mile, but O’Meara is yet to commit to that race on november 4.
The trainer said: ‘We’ll have to chat with the owners. We’ll just have to see.’
