SPURS ARE IN A CATCH-22

-

IT will be the strangest mix of emotions for Tottenham fans at the Bernabeu tonight. They will want Harry Kane to do well, of course, just not so well that he becomes irresistible to their covetous opponents, Real Madrid. For the first time, Kane is beginning to sow seeds of doubt that he will remain at Tottenham his whole career. ‘I would never say no or yes,’ he said earlier this month, when asked about a move abroad. ‘You’d not rule out anything. I’m very happy at Spurs, but we’ll see what happens.’ Indeed — most certainly if he scores twice and Tottenham win. HAVING watched another sluggish display from Michy Batshuayi, while the lively Tammy Abraham sank Huddersfield for Swansea with his fourth and fifth goals of the season, one wonders what a young Chelsea player has to do to catch the eye. Leave, it would seem.
