TV turn-off

-

I AM not surprised that one in three people who have been hounded over not paying the TV licence fee have their case thrown out (Mail).

We have been harassed and threatened for years by TV Licensing after we cancelled our direct debit in 2003 and notified them we wouldn’t be watching TV from then onwards.

We’ve been sent 72 letters of various accusations. They come addressed to my wife, who held the licence, or the legal occupier, who is me.

In 2014, I notified them that we were both over 75 and so would be exempt from paying the TV licence anyway. However, they still insist on sending us these upsetting letters. L. D. SILVERWOOD, Rimington, Lancs.
