IRELAND rugby league captain Liam Finn has set his sights on a World Cup quarter-final against England after a 36-12 win over Italy. The Wolfhounds overcame sweltering conditions in Cairns to run in six tries, two from winger Liam Kay. They play Papua New Guinea in Port Moresby on Sunday.

ELFYN EVANS claimed his first World Rally Championship victory as Sebastien Ogier secured the world title at the Wales Rally GB. Evans, 28, finished 37.3sec ahead of Thierry Neuville and became the rally’s first British winner since 2000. Ogier was a further 7.9sec behind, good enough for a fifth consecutive world title.
