Legal firm’s ‘cover-up’
A BARRISTERS’ chambers instructed by Labour to investigate the party’s handling of sexual harassment and abuse claims has been accused of covering up its own sex assault allegations.
Labour said on Friday that Matrix Chambers – cofounded by Cherie Blair – will lead an ‘independent’ probe into allegations that a party activist was raped and then told to keep quiet.
But last night the party was accused of attempting a ‘cover-up’ amid accusations that Matrix has kept secret two reports into sexual assault claims against one of its top lawyers.
Tory MP Andrew Bridgen called the Matrix review a Labour cover- up’ that seemed ‘as far from independent as you can get’.’
